Entrepreneur Terry Clune is the CEO and founder of CluneTech, formerly Taxback Group.
In 1996, inspired by his own experience after a summer working in Germany, Terry launched his first company, Taxback.com, to help students reclaim their overpaid tax. Since then, under Terry’s stewardship, the group has expanded to encompass a suite of companies that offer industry-leading technology to simplify global business. In late 2021, the group rebranded as CluneTech to reflect the breadth and depth of the solutions and services we offer.
As Chief Executive Officer of TransferMate, Gary leads the company’s global vision to revolutionize embedded B2B payments. With over 25 years of experience in banking and payments - spanning consumer and business payments, card and account to account payments, international banking and FX - Gary brings deep industry expertise and a strong track record of scaling fintech companies worldwide.
Serving as Chief Commercial Officer and Chief Product Officer for 8 years before being promoted to CEO, Gary spearheaded award-winning technological advancements and played a key role in expanding TransferMate into new verticals and geographies.
Before joining TransferMate, Gary served as Managing Director at Realex Payments, where he successfully led the post-acquisition integration into the broader Global Payments organization. Prior to that, Gary held key roles with Goldman Sachs, Finastra, and Axway.
David has over 14 years’ treasury banking experience in commercial, retail and operations, across locations in both Europe and North America. Recently David returned to Ireland having spent 11 years in the US in senior management roles with Royal Bank of Scotland and Citizens Bank. Most recently, he managed the Commercial Payments team for Citizens Bank, where he focused on the expansion of Citizens’ card issuing, acquiring and ePayables businesses. David leads the commercial department in TransferMate, responsible for strategic partners and growth across key verticals and territories including North America, Asia-Pacific and Europe.
Bríd joined TransferMate as Group CFO in 2022. Having trained as a Chartered Accountant with PWC, she has since had a lengthy and successful global career spanning over 25 years across a number of sectors including insurance, fund administration and credit unions. Brid’s broad skill set covers all areas of finance and provides leadership to the company in treasury management, financial control, corporate governance, strategic planning, budgeting, financial reporting, audit and compliance.
Una joined the TransferMate Treasury team in 2007 with a background in branch banking. Coupled with hands on experience gained in TransferMate Treasury over the past 16 years, Una provides a diverse knowledge of financial services. In her role as Head of Treasury, she supervises the management of multiple teams within the treasury function. Una is responsible for strategic review of global treasury structures and processes, identifying growth areas requiring treasury review, troubleshooting, planning and restructure.
Brian joined Transfermate in 2011, with a background in customer experience. Since 2011, Brian has worked across multiple departments gaining insights and experience that has helped shape the operational department to what it is today.
Brian manages the Global Operations function across the organisation with a key focus on streamlining all aspects of the business creating efficiencies and implementing new technologies while keeping the customer experience as the number one priority.
Alex has over 20 years’ experience of Financial Crime Investigations and is a highly experienced Financial Crime Leader, MLRO and Compliance Expert, formally a serving Counter Terrorism Detective and accredited Financial Investigator.
Accomplished in Anti-Money Laundering, Fraud, Sanctions and Counter Terrorism Finance controls. Alex has a strong track record of delivering successful outcomes and solutions, including risk management and threats relating to anti-money laundering, counter-terrorism financing and other financial crime. Alex translates everything he has learnt in the last 20+ years into keeping our partners and clients money safe.
Margaret joined the Taxback Group in 2016 with responsibility for implementing the ISO27001 framework and now operates as the Chief Information Security Officer for the Taxback Group. Margaret has over 20 years’ experience operating in senior IT roles within the finance sector and has an MB in executive leadership.
Maurice joined us in 2018 after 15 years in financial services and technology roles, working primarily as a commercial and regulatory lawyer. As the Corporate Counsel, along with supporting our business and product teams, Maurice oversees the entire contract lifecycle process across a range of areas ranging from humble NDAs and Online Terms, to Strategic Partnerships and Investments.
Sinéad O’Neill has over 20 years experience across B2B and B2C sectors.
Currently the Chief Marketing Officer for TransferMate, a global fintech unicorn, Sinéad has been instrumental in driving brand growth and market expansion across multiple verticals and territories since joining the company in 2020.
Prior to TransferMate, Sinéad held key roles in Aer Lingus, ODEON and 11850. In Aer Lingus, she was responsible for introducing the Tayto crisp sandwich on-board in addition to the Clodagh McKenna chef collaboration. While in 11850 Sinéad was responsible for all ATL and BTL marketing for the famous 118 50 runners plus the companies UK (118118), French (118218) and other European directory enquiry brands.
Her contributions have been recognized with inclusion in the Business & Finance CMO 100 Index in both 2023 and 2024, recognizing her as one of Ireland’s most influential marketing leaders.
David has over 30 years’ experience in Global HR and Management Consulting.
Working across several sectors including aviation, health, IT and financial services before joining TransferMate in 2020. David leads the Global HR team in developing and implementing our People Strategies across all areas of the business at operational and strategic levels.
Barry joined TransferMate in 2018 with 17 years of experience in various financial service and regulatory roles in global banks and with the Central Bank of Ireland. As Head of Internal Audit for TransferMate Group, Barry has overall responsibility for the internal audit function which includes the delivery of annual audit plans providing assurance and advisory services.
